You might be beginning to wonder when we’re starting to organise the end of season party for Welford! Well, the time is upon us and we would appreciate some help. The committee is small, so any extra hands or even ideas that we can get for the upcoming end of season party would be brilliant.
The party last year was so good, from our current Champions lifting their trophies to our dancing into the small hours of the morning. We want this year to be exactly the same so have a read at what we are going to need to organise and let us know if you have any ideas, or would like to help.
Thanks again for a great year playing bowls at the club!
The Date
First of all, it’s important to decide on a date when most of the club’s member will be able to make the event. We would like to have the party at the end of November, but dates across November and December may be considered. Give the club secretary a message to suggest dates. We realise this is a busy time of year for everyone, but it’s always a great night so let’s all try and keep the space clear in or diaries.
The Trophies
We will obviously be giving out this year’s trophies For Mens Champion and Ladies Champion, as well as some others that we have come up with as a committee. Let us know if you have any ideas for new trophies we can award at the night. These can be silly or serious, we’ll consider everything!
The club will also be looking for new sponsors for the trophies this year, so if any of you run or know a local business, please get in touch. The club chairman can discuss sponsor prices if you would like to take this opportunity.
The Buffet at the Party for Welford
Similar to last year’s party for Welford, we’re going to run a Bring Your Own buffet, it helps keep costs down that we can spend on other areas. Means that there will definitely be something for everyone! It can be homemade or shop bought. Remember the club has an oven, hobs and a microwave so you don’t need to worry about heating the food up on the day.
No need to bring booze, the club bar will be open for all members and their families on the night of the party!
Any Suggestions Welcome
If you have any suggestions to do with entertainment on the evening, or if you would like this to be a daytime event instead of night-time party for example, please let us know. We are trying to organise a party that will be great for all members of the club and value everyone’s opinions.
